After 45 years of visionary leadership, Roulette founder James S. Staley will be stepping down from his post as Artistic Director at the close of Roulette’s current season. Incoming Artistic Director Matt Mehlan will join Executive Director Jamie Burns in co-leading the organization. For the first time in Roulette’s history, Roulette’s Board of Directors, original co-founders, staff, and community will honor Staley—and this incredible milestone—at Roulette’s 45th Anniversary Gala on June 6, 2024. The evening will feature performances by many artists, including Yuka Honda, Nels Cline, Immanuel Wilkins, Ikue Mori, John Zorn, and Staley himself.
