On Sunday, May 14th, Cooper-Moore – jazz elder, instrument builder, and Lifetime Achievement Award honoree at this year’s NY Vision Festival. With vocalist Sha-Raw. Dr. Thomas Stanley – musicologist and sound artist will present a talk based on his book The Execution of Sun Ra. @Rhizome, 6950 Maple Avenue, in Takoma DC.

On May 21st, Shodekeh – Baltimore-based beatbox legend and bassist/guitarist Luke Stewart collaborate, plus
“More Than a Drum”, the Takoma duo of poet Dine Watson and multi-instrumentalist Abasi Johnson. @Rhizome, 6950 Maple Avenue, in Takoma DC.

On Saturday. June 3rd, @3PM keyboardist/vocalist Amina Claudine Myers, will be at the Wyndham Garden Manassas Hotel, along with bassist James King, saxophonist Antonio Parker, and drummer Nassar Abadey. @10800 Vandor Ln in Manassas VA.

On Friday, June 9, 2017 @9PM @Rhizome, Transparent Productions presents The Bill Cole Trio, w/Bill Cole (on Didgeridoo, and multiple double-reeds,), and Joseph Daley (Euphonium, tuba), Third member TBA. Rhizome is at 6950 Maple Avenue, in Takoma DC, a DC Jazz Festival Co-presentation.

On June 11th, Washington Music Viva presents violinist Michael Vaughn, violinist Nana Vaughn, cellist Steve Honigberg, and pianist, Carl Banner, performing the works of Robert Schumann and Martinu. The performance will take place at Allyworld; Airshow Mastering, 7014-B Westmoreland Ave, Takoma Park MD 20912.
