Nadah El Shazly + Serious Dreams

The Vera Project presents Egyptian producer, vocalist and sound artist Nadah El Shazly, combining expressive musical concepts from her homeland with electronic and improvisational idioms. Serious Dreams is Natasha El-Sergany and Josh Medina of somesurprises.

NonSeq: Evicshen + Reylinn
Sat. Mar. 9, 8 PM; $5 – $20 advance / at door

Victoria Shen (aka Evicshen, San Francisco) is a sound artist, experimental music performer, and instrument-maker concerned with the physicality of sound and its relationship to the body, using modular synths, vinyl/resin records, and self-built electronics. Reylinn (Vancouver) presents an audio/visual piece based on field recordings and videos taken in daily life and during travels over the past year.

Jonah Parzen-Johnson + Kelsey Mines + Welch/Blackwell/Campbell
Wed. Mar. 12, 8 PM; $5 – $20 at the door

Jonah Parzen-Johnson (Brooklyn) makes music for baritone saxophone & flute that challenges listeners with experimental textures & forms while embracing them with warm approachable melodies. Opening sets by Seattle locals Kelsey Mines (bass) and a trio of Neil Welch (sax/electronics), Abbey Blackwell (bass), and Greg Campbell (drums, etc.).
