Outlaw Space (Stephen Fandrich, piano; William Monteleone, saxophone; Kirill Polyanskiy, violin; Noah Colbek, percussion; Greg Campbell, percussion) patiently improvise toward serene and blazing melismatic compositions to “color the mind”, erase time, and astonish everyone.

Metal Mother + enereph + Terror Apart + Alien Angel
Fri. Aug. 25, 8 PM; $15 – $25 advance / at door

A night of heart-wrenching and tender electronic music, bathed in visual splendor. Video synthesis by Arabella Bautista (SEA) on soft sculpture installation and sumi ink on mulberry scrolls will enliven the space. Bring floor pillows etc. to create cozy nesting spaces (chairs provided).

The Great Seattle Music Swap
Sat. Aug. 26, 12 – 3 PM; FREE

Musicians (any style or genre) with excess physical product on hand: Bring in your unsold media (ideally CDs or vinyl) and convert it to someone else’s music via the magic of swapping! Know how many items you brought. Trade with others. Leave with the same number of items you came with. RSVP to Levi Fuller if you’re in.

Tom Varner’s Sound Vespers 2023
Sat. Aug. 26, 8 PM; $5 – $20 donation at door

Jazz French horn ace Tom Varner joins members of Seattle Phonographers Union and some of Seattle’s top improvisers for another version of Sound Vespers. This time time the lineup will include brass, reeds, strings, and field recordings. Always different, always beautiful.

Tom Baker Qt., Alia Swersky, Hannah Rice
Thu. Aug. 31, 8 PM; $5 – $20 donation at door

Integrating music and dance through free and structured improvisations, the Tom Baker Quartet and movement artists Alia Swersky and Hannah Rice meet for an exploration of the aural and physical space of the Chapel.
