Festival Of New Trumpet Music Celebrates 21st Season

The 21st Festival of New Trumpet Music continues with an array of currently emerging and pioneering talent around the instrument.
The festival kicks off on September 7th, featuring three distinct trumpet voices from the world of film music. Jeff Beal, Mark Isham, and Keyon Harrold will grace the stage of Fotografiska, demonstrating the power of music and visual storytelling.
Kal Ferretti and Michael Golub take the stage at The New School on September 8th.
In a special virtual event on September 9th, the festival pays tribute to the legendary Dizzy Reece as the remarkable Jeremy Pelt honors the legacy of this brass icon.
On September 10th, FONT Music embraces the outdoors with a captivating performance by Ben Neill at Bella Abzug Park, treating the audience to his multimedia masterpiece, Trove. Later that evening, we return to The New School for Fifth Bridge, an avant-garde quintet of trumpets and electronics led by the innovative Kelly Rossum.
September 11th and 12th brings back Brass Without Borders, our virtual performance series featuring the exceptional talents of Heidi Bayer, Hilde Marie Holsen, Jessica Carlton, and Susana Santos Silva.
As the festival ventures into Brooklyn on September 13th, Threes Brewing becomes the stage for performances by Dave Adewumi and Kellin Hanas, delivering an unforgettable musical experience.
The grand finale awaits on September 14th at The Owl Music Parlor, where we close the festival with a brilliant triple bill of Ray Larsen, Allison Philips, and Kenny Warren, leaving the audience with lasting musical impressions.
