Celebrating 50 years of faUSt and 15 years of Le Poisson Rouge, the legendary German krautrock outfit will co-headline a show for LPR 15 alongside Pere Ubu and special guests.
Rising out of the chaos and tumult of post-war Germany in 1971, the innovative Wümme krautrock outfit faUSt revolutionized electronic music with their unique sonic textures oriented around dissonance, improvisation, and experimental approaches to production that went on to influence decades of ambient music and industrial rock. In 2022, the band made a triumphant return with their latest album Punkt, their first since Fresh Air back in 2017.
Cleveland art punks Pere Ubu are one of the most influential post punk bands to emerge from Ohio’s underground rock scene. Their 1978 debut album The Modern Dance, introduced the world to their chittering, idiosyncratic industrial rhythm patterns and warbling melodies that would influence decades of dance-punk and avant pop in the years to come, from Mercury Rev to LCD Soundsystem. For one night only at LPR 15, original members Allen Ravenstine (synth) and Tony Maimone (bass) will perform together for the first time in 35 years.
