Neal Kosaly-Meyer: Finnegans Wake

The ninth chapter (Part II, Chapter 1) of James Joyce’s last novel, performed by Neal Kosaly-Meyer from memory and with acute attention to musical detail, with liturgical/theatrical atmosphere, including carefully conceived set and sound design.

Seattle Modern Orchestra

SMO returns to the Chapel for a concert featuring exclusively small chamber and solo works: Ash Fure’s piano trio therefore i was, world premieres from Jérémy Jolley’s contro-)clessidra series, and R. Murray Schafer’s virtuosic work for solo harp,The Crown of Ariadne.

Texture & Tone
Fri. Feb. 10, 8 PM; $5 – $15 donation at door

A showcase of deep-listening music from local fringers. Experimental ambient, noise, and sonic landscapes constructed from diverse textures and tones: Percussionist Aaron Michael Butler, Balcony View (James “Chance” Bridges), Corpse Pose (Stephan Blount), Meadowgoat.

Honoring Tari Nelson-Zagar
Sat. Feb. 11, 7 PM; FREE

The beloved and much respected violinist Tari Nelson-Zagar “transitioned off-planet” (her words) late last October. Tonight Tari is fondly remembered and celebrated by a host of ace Seattle improvising and classical musicians (full line-up here). All are welcome.
