LOTTE ANKER & CHRIS CORSANO
Join Ars Nova Workshop for a duo performance by Danish saxophonist Lotte Anker – best known for her work with recent MacArthur Fellow Ikue Mori and Craig Taborn – and drummer Chris Corsano – frequent collaborator with Joe McPhee, Björk and Bill Orcutt – at Solar Myth (1131 S. Broad Street) on Thursday, December 8. This is a seated show.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11, 8PM
MARISA ANDERSON & JIM WHITE
Join Ars Nova Workshop for a performance by the adventurous duo of folk guitarist Marisa Anderson and avant-garde drummer Jim White at Solar Myth (1131 S. Broad Street) on Sunday, December 11. Jim White and Marisa Anderson share an abounding appetite for musical exploration. White, as a member of Dirty Three and Xylouris White, is well known for his creative and idiosyncratic drumming. His singular abilities have also led to collaborations with Cat Power, PJ Harvey, and Bill Callahan, among others. Anderson’s prolific output as a solo performer, her mastery of traditional folk and blues forms, and her abilities to make them entirely her own has established her as one of the most exciting and forward-thinking guitarists of the last decade.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16, 8PM

Ars Nova Workshop, in collaboration with The Jazz Gallery’s Mentorship Program, presents a trio performance led by Nasheet Waits, best known for his work in Jason Moran’s Bandwagon, and featuring up-and-coming bassist Hannah Marks as well as guitarist Miles Okazaki, who’s recent six-album recording of the complete compositions of Thelonious Monk for solo guitar received widespread acclaim, at Solar Myth (1131 S.
