Monday, Nov. 7: Joe McPhee NOT-Birthday Celebration — as we do every year at Quinn’s, we celebrate not the birth but the life of the colossus of Poughkeepsie, the great multi-instrumentalist, poet and ineluctable creative force, Joe McPhee, albeit generally around his birthday. This November 3, Joe turns 83 (!!!) years young, and we’ll celebrate every day BUT his birthday on 11/7, in the company of his long-standing musical partners: soprano saxophonist Joe Giardullo, bassist Michael Bisio, drummer Jay Rosen and special guests throughout the night.
