Ben Neill with Eric Calvi, TROVE at Manitoga, Saturday, July 23, 5-8PM, Russel Wright Design Center, 584 Route 9D, Garrison, NY.

On Saturday, July 23 I will present the world premiere of Trove, an immersive, outdoor sonic performance/installation created specifically for Manitoga in Garrison, NY. Trove is a series of ambient pieces that I created with my longtime production partner Eric Calvi in 2020-21 through a remote collaboration. For the premiere, the Mutantrumpet will be augmented with a wireless networked surround sound system specially designed for this event. Calvi and I will control the spatial movement of the sounds among speakers encircling the Quarry Pool, literally playing Manitoga’s quarry landscape and incorporating its natural sonic qualities into the performance. Audiences will experience a dialogue between ambient music and nature within the magnificent atmosphere of Manitoga’s Quarry Pool and Landscape.
