Workshop in composing with the New Pulsar Generator (nuPG) application (Mac OS) implemented in SuperCollider 3 that incorporates a graphic as well text-based (live-coding) control over synthesis parameters. NonSeq: Dakota Camacho – MALI’E’

Three locally-based Matao-CHamoru artists – roldy aguero ablao, Lourdez Puti’on Velasco, Dakota Camacho – explore new expressions of the ancestral practice of exchanging memorized and improvisatory verses called MALI’E’ and kantan chamorrita through a multi-disciplinary ritual activation, improvisatory verses, chant compositions, sonic choreographies.

The London-based / Seattle-born saxophonist opens with a solo set, followed by a conducted improvisation with ten outstanding locals: Abbey Blackwell, Amelia Coulter, Beth Fleenor, Haley Freedlund, Kayce Guthmiller, Leanna Keith, Susie Kozawa, Carol Levin, Ebony Miranda, Kate Olson. Presented by Nonsequitur.

Blevin Blectum + Cruel Diagonals + Dialing In
Fri. April 22, 8 PM; $12 advance / $15 day of
An evening of intimate experimental electronics. Blevin Blectum (Bevin Kelley) is a “celebrated icon of deviant and cerebral electronic music.” Cruel Diagonals (Megan Mitchell) layers her ethereal vocals over chilling yet moving electronic atmospheres. Dialing In is Reita Piecuch, one turntable, some tape loops, and a lot of etcetera.
