NonSeq: The Force of Listening #3 – Spätzer + wiley soule
Thu. March 24, 8 PM; $5 – $20 at door
The Force of Listening shifts the focus from music as an end-point, to music as a dialogue for practicing the future. This begins with the artists’ investigation of a communal topic and continues as they “report” their findings through sound. In this performance, electronic musicians Spätzer and wiley soule explore the homeless epidemic.

Luke Fitzpatrick:
The Dreamer
Fri. March 25, 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door
Violinist and composer Luke Fitzpatrick presents an hour-long solo work entitled The Dreamer. Stemming from the anxiety of our current time, The Dreamer is an experiential piece that explores the themes of isolation, longing and duality. Audience members are encouraged to move around the space during the performance.

Joan Laage and Musicians
Sat. March 26, 8 PM; $10 – $15 at door
Butoh dancer Joan Laage (Kogut Butoh) is joined by Randy Shay on piano in a homage to her teacher, butoh master Kazuo Ohno. Then, guitarists Michael Shannon and David Stanford lay down tracks of ambient sounds for a reprise of the second butoh piece she created and performed in Tokyo in the late 1980s.
