Hunsinger/Khoury/Zerang
Doors 7 pm

Master double reedist Robbie Lynn Hunsinger assembled this new trio featuring legendary Chicago percussionist Michael Zerang and Detroit’s own violinist and New Music heavyweight, Mike Khoury. Robbie Lynn will perform on Eastern and Western oboes, including her newest eastern horn, the zurna. Each player is deeply influenced by Arab and Assyrian musical traditions, as well as the Western classical tradition. All three musicians are composers and multidisciplinary artists.

Eugene Chadbourne
More details to be announced

Originally planned to coincide with his recent Trinosophes gallery exhibition “Eugene Chadbourne: Catalogue of Birds and Selected Works,” we are closing the exhibition with two nights of performances by the Doc. For nearly two years now, Chadbourne has been painting the birds featured within Oliver Messiaen’s monumental work of birdsongs, Catalogue d’oiseaux. He has also embarked on transcribing the dense piano music for solo banjo, and has now amassed several volumes of music in Catalogue of Birds for Banjos, which was a highlight of our recent exhibition and will be for sale at his concerts.
