Elysium Furnace Works is proud to present as part of its continuing 2021 season in Beacon, NY the boundary-pushing duo of Ras Moshe Burnett and Dafna Naphtali. Fresh off their debut recording Fuse Box, longtime associates multi-instrumentalist Burnett (returning to the Howland Cultural Center for the first time in eight years) and electronic artist/vocalist Naphtali conjure liberated sonic textures both otherworldly and deeply rooted.

Ras Moshe Burnett and Dafna Naphtali will perform on Saturday, November 20 at 8 PM at the Howland Cultural Center, located at 477 Main St. in Beacon, NY — their telephone number is (845) 831-4988. Tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Attendees must provide proof of COVID vaccination: a picture of a CDC vaccination card, or various COVID “passports” etc., will be acceptable forms of proof for admission to the HCC for this concert.

Other events EFW will present in 2021 include:

December 3: Tim Berne/Nasheet Waits — A stunner of a summit between two renowned musicians, alto saxophonist Berne and drummer Waits unleash virtuosic, ineluctable invention in this rare Hudson Valley appearance;

December 11: Shelley Hirsch — The celebrated, fearless Downtown vocalist and composer closes out EFW’s 2021 season in her Beacon debut;

December 12: Fire Music screening — In EFW’s first collaboration with Beacon’s premier independent movie theater Story Screen Beacon, EFW co-presents this acclaimed documentary which Rolling Stone says “sets a new benchmark.” A special live Q&A with Bard professor Thurman Barker and educator/percussionist Warren Smith rounds out this one-time Hudson Valley screening.
