Machinefabriek – Re:Moving (Music for choreographies by Yin Yue)
cd/dl/stream on Phantom Limb

Out now, this album with two scores for (sadly unperformed) choreographies by NY dance maker Yin Yue. Both 20-minute pieces are more rhythmic and dramatic than you might be used to from me… as Vital Weekly put it: “There are valid arguments to say that Machinefabriek releases too many things, but this is surely one move I had not anticipated, so for those only interested in a few of Zuydervelt’s releases, this one is surely one different.” But you can stream the whole thing on Bandcamp or any other streaming platform, so take a listen for yourself…

Machinefabriek & Karen Willems – Volt
Live at Rewire, download and video

When you read this, percussionist Karen Willems and I just did a performance at the offline edition of the Rewire festival in the Hague. But earlier, in May, we did a short residency, and a streaming concert (in a power plant!) for the online edition of that festival too. The audio of that gig is made available as download now, and the video is now on YouTube. So if you missed it back then, here’s your chance to catch up!

Anne Bakker | René Aquarius | Rutger Zuydervelt – Hallucine

This one has been in the making for quite some time, and I’m super happy with the result. I love how this project started… Both Anne and René had sent me some recordings for possible collaborations. It wasn’t an idea to work on a trio record, but when I -sort of accidentally- combined their material, something magical happened. This chance encounter was then fine-tuned in a few months, and is now presented as the 33:33 piece Hallucine.
The album will be released October 29 on the Belgian label Consounling Sounds, in a beautiful CD edition with photography by Clive Maidment. Pre-order is open now.

Nicolas Bernier / Simon Trottier – Les éternités vibrantes

I’ve been following Nicolas Bernier’s work for some time now, so surely I was honored when he asked me to do a remix for his new album with Simon Trottier. It’s an amazing release, and if you don’t know Nicolas’ work yet, do check out his other albums!

CM_30 (Music for a performance by Kolja Huneck)

Released last month, but I have plenty of copies left… a good opportunity to quote from Foxy Digitalis’ recent review of the album: “this new score for a light and juggling performance by German circus artist Kolja Huneck stands out as one of my absolute favorite releases he’s done.” Read the whole thing here.

44 X 44 (Orphax Reworked)

This was released a while ago, but thanks to loads of printing issues, the physical copies landed just recently. I have a few for sale. Four discs of droney sounds from Modelbau, Fani Konstantinidou, Siavash Amini, Jos Smolders, and more (including myself). All made using 44 samples of 44 seconds (who would’ve guessed!) samples from Orphax.
