TONUS – MODULATION GRID II (TAPE, Midira Records)
“Modulation Grid II” is a score especially written for TONUS’ performance at Moving Noises Festival 2019, reducing the minimalist ensemble to a duo on accordion (Dirk Serries) and concertina (Martina Verhoeven). Knowing the spacious acoustics of Christuskirche Bochum, Dirk Serries wrote this piece for these 2 acoustic instruments to create this haunting and melancholic structure of overlapping tonalities and silences. For this release TONUS invited A-Sun-Amissa to deconstruct the performance and transform it into a stunning vintage ambient piece. The album comes in an edition of 80 copies, 40 copies on transparent tapes and 40 copies on grey recycled tapes, each with individual onbody prints. All housed in a maltese crossed sleeve made of rough grey recycled cardboard, printed on both sides.

TONUS – MONOGRAPH 50 (TAPE, Fort Evil Fruit)
Monograph 50 captures a two-set sextet performance organised to mark Serries’ 50th birthday. Joining Serries on guitar and accordion are: Patrick De Groote (trumpet), Nils Vermeulen (double bass) Benedict Taylor (viola), Colin Webster (alto sax), and Martina Verhoeven (piano). Recorded live in concert on October 13th, 2019 at De Singer, Rijkevorsel (Belgium) by Nicolas Lefèvre and Glenn Willems.

TONUS – INTERMEDIATE OBSCURITIES III (CD, Spontaneous Music Live Series)
Intermediate Obscurities III, based upon Dirk Serries’ graphic score, was performed at the Spontaneous Music Festival October 5th 2019. At the request of Dirk Serries, festival director Andrzej Nowak selected these amazing Polish musicians to join the TONUS ensemble’s frequent musicians. The line-up was Pawel Doskocz (acoustic guitar), Andrew Lisle (percussion), Ostap Mańko (violin), Witold Oleszak (piano), Dirk Serries (acoustic guitar), Anna Szmatola (cello), Benedict Taylor (viola) andColin Webster (alto sax). Recorded by Bartel Olszewski. Mixed and mastered by Witold Oleszak.
