Jason Kao Hwang Update

I’m in the midst of recording tracks for Andrew Drury’s Tentet. Band members are recording tracks individually, which he will assemble into the whole. The remote collaboration Andrew has designed is brave, creative and it’s working! Here’s a photo of the Tentet playing in an NYC middle school.

Loved being on saxophonist Dave Sewelson’s radio show on WFMU, Music for a Free World. It was great to talk and play together. Here’s a photo of us playing together in his band in Hoboken last year.

I’m in the midst of sharing my music with pianist/composer Ursel Schlicht’s amazing improvisation class in Kassel, Germany. The students are listening to and watching the recording session of my Symphony of Souls on YouTube. The CD is available on BandCamp. You can see the score on my website now.

It was great to play “live” with Ayman Fanous in the SUNY Downstate Alumini Auditorium in Brooklyn on 10/29. Here’s a link to Ayman’s CD of our duo, Zilzal.

I’m grateful and honored to be on Steve Swell’s recent release The Center Will Hold.

I am grateful and honored to be on saxophonist Ras Moshe’s recent release 50 Shades of May, recorded live at Scholes Street Studio.
