Thumbscrew (Tomas Fujiwara, Mary Halvorson, Michael Formanek) just released their album The Anthony Braxton Project ! The online panel on Monday will shed some light on their approach to the Braxton compositions, most of which had never been recorded before. Tri-Centric director of publishing Carl Testa played an important role in the choice of compositions and has penned this excellent essay on how the scores and Composition Notes open doors to new interpretations and possibilities.

James Fei recently gave a brilliant online lecture titled “Braxton75: The Music of Anthony Braxton – Navigation Through Form”, now available on our Vimeo page. He also created, with and under the direction of Anthony Braxton, a 50-minute reduction of the Sonic Genome performance in Berlin which is now streaming on the website of the German radio station Deutschlandfunk after its broadcast last night. Please take a listen to how the radio version beautifully condenses the essence of the evening into a rich auditory experience, then watch the full six-hour event on YouTube.
Walker Art Center recently released a trove of material from their archive including a solo video performance and two audio recordings by Anthony Braxton from the 1980s.

Duo (Bologna) 2018, Anthony Braxton in duo with harpist Jacqueline Kerrod, is now available from “i dischi di angelica” label.

Duo (Improv) 2017, from our own New Braxton House Records, is close to being sold out. If you would like a box set, please act quickly. Download will always be available.
