Today is our 17th anniversary. If you told me last year that we would be celebrating it under lockdown during a global pandemic, I would have looked at you sideways. In any event, once more I would like to thank the musicians, labels, PR folks, reviewers, and others who provide the information and content that has kept this site going since 2003.
I am happy to report that the AMN team is healthy and coping with the current situation. Speaking for myself, I am finding it more difficult than I expected to balance my day job (yes, I have one of those) with my music interests while at home all of the time. My efficiency is down, as routine tasks are taking longer than expected and new COVID-related tasks (such as sanitizing groceries) have popped up. So updates get published when there is time, and the email and reviewing queue is still growing.
I have the utmost respect for the artists who are continuing to create during these times, often with little hope of making a living off of it. If AMN readers are fortunate enough to have some extra cash these days, by all means, buy albums, CDs, downloads, whatever you can.
And to the artists, thank you for supplying us with an endless amount of music for review. We write as much as we can, and even if we don’t write about your offering, we will likely enjoy it and always appreciate your sharing.
Best to all and stay safe – the only way to get through this crisis is together. If you have friends or family that are isolated, reach out to them. If you are feeling isolated, don’t hesitate to ask for help. We all need someone to talk to.
