December 12, 2019 / David Schotzko

A passionate advocate for contemporary composers, Schotzko performs an eclectic program of solo percussion works by composers Rose Bolton (Toronto), Scott Smallwood (Edmonton), Michael Oesterle (Montréal), and Valeria Jonard (Mexico) — including some Ontario premieres.

January 23, 2020 / Rebecca Bruton & Ways

Western Canadian composer, songmaker and vocalist Rebecca Bruton’s practice spans chamber music to songs, often dealing with land, loss and desire. The concert includes a set by local duo Ways (saxophonist Brodie West and percussionist Evan Cartwright) who make a delicate, spare brand of collectively-composed music, inspired by Morton Feldman.

February 25, 2020 / Amahl Arulanandam & Sara Constant

In a first-time collaboration, cellist Amahl Arulanandam and flutist Sara Constant present a concert of contemporary Canadian and international chamber music, playing solo and duo works for flute, cello, with some works featuring electronics.

March 5, 2020 / Amy Brandon & Susan Alcorn

Two of North America’s most unique voices of the guitar—composer and performer Amy Brandon plays hypnotic solo nylon string guitar music alongside elaborate pre-recorded electroacoustic backings. Baltimore’s Susan Alcorn has taken the pedal steel guitar far outside of country into exciting new territory with her lyrical but sonically rich compositions for the instrument.
