UNHEARD-OF//TRIOS
Unheard-of//Ensemble performs a program of trio works for clarinet, violin, and cello, featuring Elliott Carter’s Con Leggerezza Pensosa and Ursula Mamlok’s Five Bagatelles alongside Jeewon Kim’s Silence, written as part of Unheard-of’s recent workshop with students from Manhattan School of Music. Unheard-of also performs Du Yun’s dreams-bend with Erin Rogers narrating and Seth Boustead’s Daughters of the Moon based on an Italo Calvino short story. They perform Cirque de solfège, a seven-movement miniature work written for Unheard-of’s community engagement concerts by Queens-based composer Sunny Knable.

JOHN ZORN PRESENTS: THE STONE COMMISSIONING SERIES
Jen Shyu premieres a new multilingual, multimedia drama, ZERO GRASSES, expressed through modern myth interfacing with ancient shamanic art forms from Timor, Korea, Indonesia, and Japan. ZERO GRASSES shows how people recount loss in disaster and how humans regain connection with nature and each other.

Compositions by Jose Ardevol, Lynn Bechtold, Dan Cooper, Carlo Doneniconi, Mark Kostabi, Nick Peros, Gene Pritsker, and Joseph Waters will be performed, accoutered with masks and headpieces created by Milica Paranosic.
