Over the course of five performances, Zeena Parkins will be sharing the stage with major artists including Ikue Mori (DNA, John Zorn), Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), William Winant (Roscoe Mitchell, Mike Patton, John Zorn), Ingrid Laubrock and Tom Rainey, Myra Melford and Miya Masaoka, Tilt Brass Ensemble, Maggie Parkins (Eclipse Quartet, The Smudges), and James Fei (Anthony Braxton, Alvin Lucier).

Concept Lab: Volume VIII features works inspired by thinking machines, a defrosting refrigerator, parlor diplomacy, 5 and 7 beat rhythmic cycles in 18th-century performance practice, an imagined soundtrack for a hallucinogenic video game, and a preview of a memorial concert for Mario Davidovsky.
