Chapel Performance Space at Good Shepherd Center

Every month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded presenters and artists offer ten concerts of adventurous music in an informal yet respectful all-ages setting: contemporary classical, free improvisation, the outer limits of jazz, electronic music, microtonal/new instruments, sound art, and other extraordinary sonic experiences.

Inverted Space Ensemble
Thu. Nov. 29, 8 PM; $5 – $15 donation at door

Inverted Space opens its 7th Season with the music of Kerrith Livengood and Pauline Oliveros. The concert will feature Livengood’s scrawl etude I and new works for Adapted Viola and Intoning Voice performed by Luke Fitzpatrick as well as the Seattle Premier of Pond Frog Translations for Adapted Guitar 1 and Intoning Voice performed by Charles Corey. The second half will feature a sonic meditation by Oliveros.

Body.Space.Time.Sound. v2: Threes
Fri. Nov 30, 8 PM; $15 at the door

Trios and sextets will perform a series of sets using the theme of THREE to guide each improvisation. Triangles, trinities, and triads, the vast meanings and dynamic potentials of the magic number will guide this improvisational performance. Ruby Dunphy (drums), Kaley Lane Eaton (voice/electronics), Troy Schiefelbein (bass) + dancers Rachael Lincoln, Aaron Swartzman, Brian Evans.

Rob Angus + M. Barreca & B. Fergus
Sat. Dec. 1, 8 PM; $5 – $15 donation at door
Rob Angus loops, layers and processes acoustic instruments, creating ambient industrial music in surround sound with Neil Welch (sax) and Don Berman (drums). Marc Barreca plays electro-acoustic compositions with laptop, modular synth, and MIDI accordion. Brian Fergus plays electro-acoustic music featuring ukulele- and theremin-controlled synthetic instruments. Barreca & Fergus will also play a duo set.

Fri. 12/7 – PREYER is the duo of percussionist Adam Briggs and cellist Ebony Miranda
