Heterodyne and The Russian White in Arlington on October 22

Heterodyne next performs at Arlington’s iconic Galaxy Hut on October 22 at the invitation of Reading’s The Russian White.  Galaxy Hut is located at 2711 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia.  The performance begins at 9pm; the venue is 21+.

The Russian White (darkwave/electronic) is from Reading, Pennsylvania.  Backstory:  vocalist Tom Rhymer enlisted label mate & keyboardist Michael Colon & producer Sean Marz in creating a soundtrack reminiscent of an 80’s stalker flick. Borrowing from Post punk, synthwave, Witch House they mash electronic beats, analog bass lines, haunting atmospheres, shimmering effects, lush vocals with stories of obsession, beauty and the unknown. FFO Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, The Black Queen, Crosses.

Heterodyne is an improvisational project; its co-founders and core performers are Maria Shesiuk (Moog and processed vocalizations) and T. A. Zook (NS Design Omni Bass, strung as a basscello). Although it is essentially a duo, when complex schedules permit, it performs with Patrick Whitehead on quarter-tone flügelhorn and trumpet; Bob Boilen on ARP synthesizer; Doug Kallmeyer on bass and synthesizer; Jerry Busher on drums; Sarah Hughes on sax; Leah Gage on drums; Sam Lohman on drums; Amanda Huron on drums; and Dan Gutstein, spoken word.
