THE DMG 28TH ANNIVERSARY SERIES OF SONIC CELEBRATIONS Continue with Part 2:

This Monday, August 20th at 8pm at the Zurcher Gallery – 33 Bleecker Street in NYC!

NATE WOOLEY and CHRIS PITSIOKOS – Trumpet and Alto Sax!

After a year of serious planning, DMG will host another historic event at the great Zurcher Gallery (33 Bleecker St, just east of Lafayette)! I attend a great deal of concerts throughout the year, mostly in Manhattan and in Brooklyn and often 2-4 times a week! Live and recorded Creative Music keeps me nourished, inspired and sane so I continue to check out as much creative music as is possible! The weekly free music series at DMG have been better attended this Summer and the music has often been Glorious! DMG sponsored shows at other locations take time and consideration so we only do them a few times per year.Thomas

This coming Monday, Aug 20th will be one such historic event! Two of my favorite Downtown Creative Musicians will be joining forces to invent some New Sounds: NATE WOOLEY on Trumpet and CHRIS PITSIOKOS on Alto Sax! Both are multiple bandleaders, crafty composers and seasoned improvisers. Mr. Pitsiokos recently got a scholarship to Wesleyan University, so he will not be performing in town as much as the past. Congratulations to Chris! I find that Creative Improvised Music captures a certain democratic, free spirit not found readily anywhere else. Something special, something magical will occur that night so please come down and help us celebrate: Downtown Music Gallery 28 Years and still going strong! Thanks to Gwenolee Zurcher for being such a gracious host! Check out the artwork at Zurcher as well. – Bruce Lee Gallanter, DMG
