PC Muñoz: Album & Book Release
Drummer/poet PC Muñoz returns to the Red Poppy to celebrate the release of his new album, Physical Science and its companion chapbook, Inside Pocket of a Houndstooth Blazer. The night features two sets of originals and unusual re-inventions through jazz-informed improvisation, art-funk rhythms, electronic soundscapes, and lyrics that deal with America’s darkest open secrets. Joining PC is cellist Alex Kelly, bassist Bryan Dean, and special guests including rapper DEM ONE.

Electronic Arts Ensemble is a week-long workshop at CCRMA designed for musicians, visual artists, programmers, designers, writers, dancers, actors, or artists of any discipline to collaboratively develop improvisatory performances using custom digital toolkits. At the core of the workshop, daily group improvisations using customized toolkits will enable participants to develop a novel approach to their individual artistic practice. Participants are encouraged to experiment with the technology presented during the demos, and to engage with their peers in synergetic creation. The Solomon Gottfried Quartet: Chordless Chamber Jazz
Bassist and composer Solomon Gottfried presents a quartet of young musicians from New York City playing improvised music rooted in the jazz tradition but in a more chamber format. Featuring original compositions from their recently released EP, The Watering Hole, the band also performs new works with the intention of intimately exploring sound, texture, and space.
