Bo-Peep, PAK, Shardik, Woodhead in NY, April 27

English: Ron Anderson at the Silent Barn with PAK

BO-PEEP is a powerful and exciting “punk” band from Tokyo, Japan that blend chaotic guitar riffs, brutal rhythm and manic vocals with a melodic sensibility that echoes the raw but infectious energy of the grunge era.

This is the first concert of the new reincarnation of PAK. After playing bass in PAK for many years Ron Anderson is back on guitar with a more powerful heavier sound. New members Steve Blanco (Imperial Triumphant) on bass and Larry Kwartowitz (Cleric) on drums are helping in stretching the bands previous boundaries, pushing PAK to new sonic directions.

SHARDIK is trio project from Matt Hollenberg the burning guitarist of Cleric. Shardik blends avant-garde classical, free jazz, dissonant math metal, ambient and world music into a powerful new mix.

Opening band WOODHEAD. In addition to a commitment to riveting live performances, Woodhead’s inspired music combines pop, new wave, no wave, avant jazz, crisp, intriguing lyrics, and occasionally atonal melodies. They are currently recording a new album with legendary producer Martin Bisi.
