Kyoko Kitamura News

Via Kyoko Kitamura.

Earlier this fall, I had a wonderful time debuting my new trio with Ken Filiano (bass) and Da Yeon Seok (drums). We’ll be performing again in December, this time as Tidepool Fauna 4 with Ingrid Laubrock on tenor sax. I hope you can join us. But before I get to that, here’s a free album download (limited time only): Trio (Knoxville) 2016, recorded live at the 2016 Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee, with Anthony Braxton, Taylor Ho Bynum and myself performing Braxton’s ZIM Music. This is part of the holiday gift series from Tri-Centric. Cheers!
Coming up is dancer Rachel Bernsen’s Redouble which I have the honor of being part of. Two showings of this work-in-progress this month, both free, in New Haven and in NYC. This is a duo work, with both of us in multiple roles.

Saturday, Nov 11 6:30PM – 8PM
FREE
The Big Room at Erector Square 319 Peck Street, New Haven, CT
Informal showing with light drinks and snacks.
Please RSVP rachelbernsen@gmail.com

Monday, Nov 13 8PM
FREE
Judson Church 55 Washington Sq. South NYC
Redouble will be shown as part of Movement Research at Judson Church’s Monday night forums.

Further ahead, I hope you can join me for the debut of Tidepool Fauna 4 on December 19th at Clemente Soto Velez on the Lower East Side (as part of Arts for Arts’ Evolving Series, more info coming soon) with myself on voice and compositions, Ingrid Laubrock on t. sax, Ken Filiano on bass and Da Yeon Seok on drums.
