Monday, June 26: Bill Brovold, Frank Pahl, Benjamin Miller, Eric Gustafson and Beth Wilusz Duo

Composer, guitarist Bill Brovold returns to his adoptive home of the ’90s to give us an update on his musical wanderings. As a New Yorker in the ’70s, Bill was involved with the evolution of Rhy Chatham’s “Guitar Trio,” and NYC’s Downtown experimental scene in general. Word is he’s been veering towards acoustic music and traditional songwriting, but you never know what might happen — especially as he’ll be joined on the bill by a duo of Eric Gustafson and Beth Wilusz, from his Detroit-based art rock group Larval.

The rest of the show is rounded out by two of Bill’s most interesting contemporaries in the region, who are both serious composers in their own right: Frank Pahl (Only A Mother, Little Bang Theory, Scavenger Quartet) and Bejamin Miller (Sproton Layer, GKW, Destroy All Monsters etc.).
Doors at 8 pm; $8.
