On April 17, the Lost Civilizations experimental music project returns to its residency at Dew Drop Inn DC for an evening featuring a set by Richmond-based WaBEYA.
WaBEYA is a dark ambient r&b project of Singer/Producer Mishika Tshishimbi.
The Lost Civilizations experimental music project is a collaboration between Mike Sebastian (Tenor Sax, Saxello and Baritone Sax) and T. A. Zook (BassCello and Misc. Instruments). Although it is essentially a duo and performs most frequently as such, it often features guest performers. When complex schedules permit, it now performs with Doug Kallmeyer on bass and electronics, Jerry Busher on percussion and electronics, Patrick Whitehead on flügelhorn and trumpet, Sam Lohman on drums, Leah Gage on drums and Emily Chimiak on violin. This project began performing in 2008. The project’s performances are unscored, unrehearsed and improvised extemporaneously on the spot.
Dew Drop Inn DC is located at 2801 8th Street NE; the performance starts at 8 pm; it’s 21+ and it’s free!
