Anthony Braxton‘s opera Trillium J (The Non-Unconfessionables) is now streaming on Vimeo On Demand ($6.99 for 30 days, or $29.99 for purchase). This is the latest Braxton opera to be staged, a four-act multimedia tour de force which premiered in 2014 at Roulette featuring a cast of 12 vocalists, 12 instrumental soloists and a 36-piece orchestra. Of course, the opera is still available as a deluxe physical boxset, with 4-CDs, Bluray disc, and booklet with complete libretto and composer’s notes (New Braxton House 906), but Tri-Centric is excited to offer this additional streaming format to make the video of the performance more widely available.

For the inaugural release of Tri-Centric Forum, a new imprint on Bandcamp, we are starting off with Music of Blake, Bynum & Laubrock: Agora, Questions of Transfiguration, Vogelfrei. The album features new music for creative orchestra by Daniel Blake, Taylor Ho Bynum, and Ingrid Laubrock, performed by the Tri-Centric Orchestra and conducted by Bynum in concerts at Roulette in 2013 and 2015. While all three composers have well-earned reputations in contemporary improvised music, these recordings present their first works for an ensemble of this size and scope, and we are proud to offer this fantastic music to our listeners. The music is free to stream and $6 to download, and any proceeds from this release will go to support future commissions and performances by the Tri-Centric Orchestra.
