Every month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded presenters and artists offer ten concerts of adventurous music in an informal yet respectful all-ages setting: contemporary classical, free improvisation, the outer limits of jazz, electronic music, microtonal/new instruments, sound art, and other extraordinary sonic experiences.

Senyawa + Arrington de Dionyso
Thu. August 4; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door

Senyawa (Jogjakarta, Indonesia) embodies the aural elements of traditional Indonesian music while exploring the framework of experimental music practice, pushing the boundaries of both traditions to create truly contemporary Indonesian new music. Arrington de Dionyso (Olympia, WA) conjures Utopic Spaces with multiphonic vocal work & minimalist instrumentation; shamanic seance meets rock and roll ecstasy.

Alan Cook & Co.: Un Nuit de Trios
Fri. August 5; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door

Master drummer and recent NW arrival Alan Cook brings together some of the finest improvising musicians from the Seattle creative music scene and beyond for a night of unbridled collaboration and discovery. Alan leads two varied trio sets: The Percussion Discussion teams him up with Greg Campbell and Chris Icasiano, while Big Sky features violinist Tari Nelson-Zagar and guitarist Scot Ray.

Music in the American Wild
Sat. August 6; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door

Music in the American Wild is a touring celebration of the 2016 US National Park Service centennial, featuring new music inspired by and performed in national parks across the country. Eleven composers and seven performers, all affiliated with Eastman School of Music, have collaborated to honor this milestone of conservation by creating new works inspired by the national parks.
