Every month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded presenters and artists offer ten concerts of adventurous music in an informal yet respectful all-ages setting: contemporary classical, free improvisation, the outer limits of jazz, electronic music, microtonal/new instruments, sound art, and other extraordinary sonic experiences.Grex + Citizens Band

June 17; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the doorSF Bay Area band Grex offers a unique blend of popular song, free improvisation, and experimental jazz, performing with the likes of Fred Frith, Tony Levin, and the Kronos Quartet. Citizens Band is a Seattle-based trio comprised of Ivan Arteaga, Chris Icasiano, and Jeff Johnson, a multi-generational project focused on original jazz with plenty of room for improvisation and spontaneity.
Crome, Kelley, Schafii, Degenerate
Sat. June 18; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the doorSamuel A. Crome debuts Delicate Air, a long form piece for prepared electric guitar, alto sax, bells and radio. Greg Kelley plays unamplified solo trumpet improvisations. Cameron Shafii’s compositions are inflected by software processes involving spectral analysis, convolution, recombination file handling, and stochastic elements. DJ Degenerate maintains the vibe between sets.
