Yasunao Tone: AI Deviation
Thursday June 9th, 8pm, 22 Boerum Place

ISSUE Project Room is pleased to present Japanese-American artist, writer, theorist, and composer Yasunao Tone premiering new work embracing artificial intelligence (AI). Tone has collaborated with Prof. Tony Myatt, University of Surrey UK, and a team of researchers including Mark Fell and Dr. Paul Modler, with the support of ISSUE Project Room, to develop artificial intelligences that can simulate several of his performance approaches. Tone will deviate and control AI versions of himself using his MP3 Deviation software.

Lea Bertucci
Artist-In-Residence 2015
Tuesday, June 14th – 8pm
22 Boerum Place, Brooklyn

For her third and final show as an ISSUE Artist-in-Residence, Lea Bertucci will premiere new works for voice, tape and electronics at ISSUE’s 22 Boerum Theater. Developed over the course of 2015/16, these new works embody her recent approaches to composition and recording technique. Environmental sound sources and manipulated instruments/objects form an ominous sound-world, where states of alienation, ambiguity and transcendence are examined. The performance will feature guest vocalists Max Alper, Amirtha Kidambi, and Kathleen Baird.
