Every month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded presenters and artists offer ten concerts of adventurous music in an informal yet respectful all-ages setting: contemporary classical, free improvisation, the outer limits of jazz, electronic music, microtonal/new instruments, sound art, and other extraordinary sonic experiences.

Seattle Composers Alliance
Tue. April 26; 7:30 PM; $5 – $15 at the door

The NOCCO String Quartet performs music by the ten finalists in the SCA‘s 2nd Annual International Call for Scores. Composers from the UK, Spain, Italy, Canada and beyond, as well as local contributions from Seattle and the US: Rodrigo Batalha, Diane Berry, Jeff Chambers, William Cooper, Daniele Di Virgilio, Heidi Fivash, Philip Kenworthy, Jiyoung Kim, Andrea Montalbano, William Toutant.

Leviathan Worship Service + DTMF
Fri. April 29; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door

Leviathan Worship Service believes in total freedom of sound, only concerned with experiencing the music in the moment. DTMF is the new project of Gabriel Schubiner, calling on emulated telephony signal processors, sampled recordings and generative processes to dial in the sounds of networked communication. Also, music/dance performance from Campbell Thibo and Belle (dance) with Darb Aduor (percussion)

Seattle Bass Clarinet Project
Sat. April 30; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door

Beverly Setzer & Jenny Ziefel performs regularly around the Seattle area and have commissioned several works for bass clarinet duet from Seattle area composers. This concert includes the world premiere of Sean Osborn’s Four Moods for Bass Clarinet Duo and performances of pieces by Bill Smith, Jim Knodle, Daniel Barry, and other composers.

Otomo Yoshihida/Project Fukushima
Tue. May 3; 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door

Earshot Jazz & Nonsequitur present a solo performance by guitarist, turntable performer, composer, producer, and co-founder of the Project Fukushima! organization, Otomo Yoshihide. The events that unfolded in Fukushima in March 2011 still hold important lessons for all of us in the current era of nuclear power and global climate change. (Also: Documentary screens May 2 @ NW Film Forum).
