SELEBEYONE RECORDING TO BE RELEASED SUMMER 2016
Sélébeyone is a new collaborative project that draws from Senegalese Rap, French Spectral Music, Modern Jazz, Underground Hip-Hop, Interactive Electronics, and beyond. We recorded our first full-length album in January 2016 and I could not be more excited to share the music with everyone. The recording features Damion Reid (Drum Set), Drew Gress (Bass); Carlos Homs (Keyboards); Bamar Ndoye (Rap/Lyrics); HPrizm (Rap/Lyrics); Maciek Lasserre (Soprano/Composition), and myself (Alto/Composition), and will be released by Pi Recordings later this year. Keep an eye out and/or check out a tout petit sneak peek here.

UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO RESIDENCY — APRIL 8 & 9
I will be presenting a discussion of my current music on April 8th as part of the Univeristy of Chicago Music Colloquium Series, which “brings leaders from across the fields of music theory, history, composition, and ethnomusicology to present their work to faculty and graduate students.” On April 9, I’ll present a concert of music for saxophone and piano with my longtime colleague and friend, the amazing composer/pianist Anthony Cheung.

WALKER ART CENTER RESIDENCY — MAY 5 & 7
I am thrilled to be presenting a series of performances and public discussions in early-May, in partnership with The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Events on May 5th will include a round table discussion of my work hosted by the American Composer Forum; an informal tour of select pieces from the Walker galleries, and a free evening concert of music for saxophone and live electronics with the legendary lyricist/composer HPrizm of Antipop Consortium,
Formed in 2015 by Steve Lehman, HPrizm, Maciek Lasserre, and Bamar Ndoye, Sélébéyone is a new collaborative project that draws from Senegalese Rap, French Spectral Music, Modern Jazz, Underground Hip-Hop, Interactive Electronics, and beyond.
