Conlon Nancarrow’s Player-Piano Works at the Whitney Reviewed

en : A player piano in action performing a pia...

From The New York Times:

The music — pounding, swooping, constantly surprising — was one of Conlon Nancarrow’s roughly 50 groundbreaking studies for player piano. With floods of notes rushing up and down the keyboard, as if played by an exceptionally virtuosic ghost, Mr. Sanders, a staff curator at the museum who is also in charge of performance, laughed and slowly shook his head, his face a mixture of disbelief and delight.
