Either/Or Ensemble (Wednesday) This adventurous, flexible chamber ensemble focuses on new and recent scores in the experimental and avant-garde traditions. For the event, the pianists Taka Kigawa and Anthony Coleman and the percussionist David Shively offer Mr. Coleman’s “Scenes from a teleological sickbed” and Gio Janiashvili’s “Muffling Fog: After Martin Heidegger” for piano, video and electronic sounds. League of Composers (Thursday) The conductor Scott Voyles and the composer Louis Karchin share conducting duties in this program of works by David Felder, Kaija Saariaho and, in honor of his centennial, Irving Fine. Lukas Ligeti Focus (Thursday) The distinctive composer-percussionist Lukas Ligeti, whose works have boldly drawn fused modernist contemporary idioms, rock, jazz, electronics, African music and more, turns 50 on June 13. In a slightly early celebration, the Austrian Cultural Forum presents the Austrian-born Mr. Ligeti and his indie-rock band, Notebook, along with other noted performers, in a free concert featuring the composer’s solo and smaller chamber works.
