Lost Civilizations, Tony Risotto, and Utenzil in DC on Sunday

On Sunday, May 17, 2015, The Lost Civilizations experimental music project is appearing with Tony Risotto and Utenzil in the Indie Adams Morgan series at the Black Squirrel’s Taproom which is located at 2427 18th Street, NW, Washington DC. The performance begins at 8 pm, and is free and open to the public.

The Lost Civilizations experimental music project is a collaboration between Mike Sebastian (tenor sax, saxello and baritone sax) and T. A. Zook (basscello and misc. instruments). Although essentially a duo, when schedules permit, it is joined by Jerry Busher (drums); Doug Kallmeyer (bass and electronics); Sam Lohman (drums); Larry Gomez (percussion), Patrick Whitehead (horns) and Emily Chimiak (violin). On May 17, Sam Lohman will be sitting in on drums. A free download to the May 11 performance by the Lost Civilizations experimental music project with Sam Lohman on drums and his daughter Minga on vocals is posted at https://goo.gl/XBBFko .

Tony Risotto briefly studied composition, but gave it up in favor of a more direct approach. Using endless loops, he hopes to build a pillar to the sky. He runs the label FoundTapes.

Utenzil is the solo project of Michael McMorris, which brings together fitful decades of musical experience/experiments plus software, laptops, mixer and instruments which include various controllers, a DIY double neck midi guitar, live guitar and voice.
