David Coll’s new work, Construction, is a two-part project that addresses the combination of music and installation art. Through fusion, gyration, alternation, dissolution, Construction is a two-hour event that will open the Music and Words festival. The assembled ensemble consists of artists Adam Carlin and Erich Richter; musicians Kristina Dutton and Teddy Rankin-Parker; and composers David Coll and Aaron Gervais.

A solo work for live electronics by Bob Ostertag. The first movement of Sooner or Later is built from a recording made in El Salvador during the civil war, of a young boy burying his father. The piece has been described by High Performance Magazine as an “audio microscope” of the words spoken by the boy during this emotional experience.
