Not much happening at the Chapel this week and nothing at all next week. We recommend this free lecture/demonstration by Gordon Mumma, a pioneer of live electronics and Cage/Cunningham collaborator. PONCHO Hall on the Capitol Hill campus of Cornish College. Go if you can.

Empty Boat + New Art Trio
Thu. Nov. 20, 8 PM; $5 – $15 at the door
Empty Boat is a quintet of Seattle creative music veterans (Don Berman, drums; Geoff Harper, bass; Jim Knodle, trumpet; Dennis Rea, guitar; Dick Valentine, flutes and saxophones) performing original compositions. Opening is saxophonist/composer Kenny Mandell’s New Art Trio, featuring Curtis Dahl, keyboards and Tim Volpicella, guitar. An evening of Seattle Creative Music at its finest.

THU. 12/4 – an evening of new opera, sound, and performance by Angelina Baldoz, Stuart Dempster, Kathleen Hunt, Maria Mannisto, and others

FRI. 12/5 – Zero-G Concerts: Triptet w/ Stuart Dempster & Bill Smith, a unique cross between the hypnotic ambient and avant-garde jazz’s complex and dissonant harmonies

SAT. 12/6 – Cornish Electronic Music Ensemble

TUE. 12/9 – Electronic music by RM Francis, Timm Mason, and Matt Shoemaker

WED. 12/10, 7:30 PM – Composer/clarinetist Sean Osborn presents four new eclectic chamber works
