Yarn/Wire/Currents: Christopher Trapani & Pete Swanson
FREE / $10 SUGGESTED DONATION
Yarn/Wire/Currents, a new and ongoing collaboration of ISSUE and Yarn/Wire, continues with the premieres of newly commissioned works for piano/percussion quartet by Christopher Trapani and Pete Swanson. Following Yarn/Wire’s dynamic 2012 collaboration with Swanson, the pairing returns for another foray into the intersection of electronic and acoustic sound. Trapani evokes the sensation of suspension and stopped time, inspired by Micahel Clune’s book Writing Against Time.

FRI, MAY 2 – 8:00PM
Jacob Kirkegaard: ISFALD
FREE / $10 SUGGESTED DONATION
Berlin-based Danish sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard returns to ISSUE to present ISFALD, a recent immersive solo soundwork. The piece features the sounds of ice, recorded with underwater microphones at the Ilulissat icefjord and with vibration sensors at the melting glaciers of Kangerlussuaq, Greenland in June 2013.
