“Be Known” documentary on musician Kahil El’Zabar

Chicago’s WBEZ features an interview with Kahil El’Zabar on his music, life, and the upcoming documentary “Be Known.”

Music innovator, poet and world traveler, Kahil El’Zabar, has been creating cutting edge music for decades. Long time boyhood friend and filmmaker, Dwayne Johnson-Cochran, has made a penetrating “warts and all” documentary about Kahil’s life, titled “Be Known.” The documentary is a riveting, edgy portrait that chronicles the day-to-day(or gig-to-gig) struggle and the tumultuous life of a working musician.
