From The Tri-Centric Foundation:

We are happy to let you know that we now have the dates for the 2014 Tri-Centric festival: April 10, 11, 12 (Thu – Sat), 17, 18, 19 (Thu – Sat) at Roulette in Brooklyn, NY. The first half will be the Presenting Series, with each evening showcasing a work by a Tri-Centric musician, paired with a work by Braxton. The second half brings the premiere of all four acts of the Braxton opera Trillium J, after which the cast will enter the studio to record. Stay tuned!

Four bootleg albums from Anthony Braxton Quartet’s Jazz Cafe (London) performances in 1991 have been added to our bootleg catalog.

Upcoming Miami Shows

From Miami’s Subtropics:

924 lincoln road | Studio 201, Miami Beach, Florida 33139

Join us as we celebrate the release of our second album, Reach for the Skies. This album captures the band in peak form as we pursue our ultimate goal; to leave the ego behind and fully open up to receive the music we play together. We also have a couple of surprises in store, including the return of bassist Kyle Motl.

The Abbey Rader Quartet is:
Abbey Rader – drums
John McMinn – horns
Noah Brandmark – horns
Kyle Motl – bass

An exploration into the sonic worlds of the double bass in two parts. The first half consists of a set of improvised music for solo bass, exploring timbre and structure. The second half pairs bass with electronics, amplifying and expanding the sonic landscape. Included in the second half will be Alvin Lucier’s Homage to James Tenney for double bass and pure wave oscillators.

Chadbourne and Nakatani ~ November 9th at the Black Box.  Japanese percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani returns to Miami after traveling the globe for a duo concert with free improvising avant jazz/country/folk hero Eugene Chadbourne. Gong meets electric rake.
