Tyshawn Sorey’s Wu Wei Quintet reached a fever pitch about halfway into its 90-minute concert at the Greenwich House Music School on Wednesday night, and even then it seemed to be holding something in reserve. But it was thunderous, at least until it was hushed again, with a bracing intrigue coded somewhere in the transition.
