Karlheinz Stockhausen‘s Natural Durations 1-12 will have its New York Premier at Grace United Methodist Church Performed by David Buddin, December 9, 4:00pm. Grace United Methodist Church presents pianist David Buddin (voted best New York composer 2012 by the Village Voice) performing the New York premier of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Natural Durations 1-12. The concert will be held on Sunday, December 2 at 4pm, free admission. This is the first half of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s vast meditation on piano sonority. One of Stockhausen’s last pieces, it is the third “hour” of his ‘Klang’ cycle, derived from a single twenty-four-note set ran through a myriad of permutations and transformations.
Potlatch has a new release out from Pluie Fine, which is Angharad Davies (violin) and Cremaster consisting of Alfredo Costa Monteiro (electro-acoustic devices, speakers, electric guitar) and Ferran Fages (feedback mixing board, electro-acoustic devices). It was composed, recorded & assembled between September 2010 and July 2012 in Barcelona. Violin parts recorded by Kostis Kilymis on march 2012 in Oxford.

Renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist Douglas R. Ewart presents Water is Tops, a mesmerizing multimedia work using sound, spoken word, movement arts, and his unusual musical invention, Sonic Tops, to explore the sonic, ritual, philosophical aspects of water. Featuring movement and poetry from Mankwe Ndosi, Ni’Ja Whitson, & Jenelle Speller, & instrumentalists Donald Smith (piano), J.D. Parran (woodwinds), Warren Smith (drums, percussion), & Douglas R.
