Mariel Roberts celebrates the release of her album nonextraneous sounds with new works for cello by Andy Akiho, Sean Friar, Alex Mincek, Tristan Perich, and Daniel Wohl.

Voices and Echoes begins tomorrow!

Curator Aki Onda and ISSUE Project Room present Voices and Echoes: two evenings of pioneering Japanese artists renowned for their unique, interdisciplinary approaches to sound-based practices: Akio Suzuki, Gozo Yoshimasu, and Otomo Yoshihide.

The performances will span a wide array of artistic disciplines including literature, sound art, conceptual performance, and improvisation all converging around a theme of highly personalized, experimental approaches to sound perception, production, and presentation. While Gozo Yoshimasu and Akio Suzuki, seminal figures in the fields of Japanese literature and sound art, respectively, have garnered acclaim throughout Japan and Europe, though their work is largely unknown in North America.

Yarn/Wire, a unique instrumental combination of two percussionists and two pianists, completes its much-celebrated residency with new works from three extraordinary American composers: Andrew McIntosh, Elizabeth Adams and Christopher Burns.
