Efterklang and Wordless Music Orchestra at Met Museum

On Saturday evening, in a clear sign of the winds of change now blowing through the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Wordless Music Orchestra joined the Danish art-pop trio Efterklang in a symphonic realization of its new album, “Piramida,” jointly presented by the museum and the Wordless Music series. Conducted by Matthew Coorey, the orchestra joined Efterklang, a guest pianist (Peter Broderick) and drummer (Budgie), and a trio of female backing vocalists in songs from “Piramida” as orchestrated by Karsten Fundal, a Danish composer, and Missy Mazzoli, a New Yorker. (Two older songs played during an encore, “Monopolist” and “Modern Drift,” were arranged by another composer, Daniel Bjarnason.)
