Mopomoso
Now in its 21st year the UK’s longest running series dedicated to promoting the best in free improvisation present an evening of three contrasting sets.

Kryscraft
U.K debut of elegant and inventive improvisation from this Belgian duo, Marjolaine Charbin (piano) and Frans Van Isacker (sax).

Displaying an attention to the finer details of timbre and pitch with a great sense of space and dynamics.

Alan Tomlinson trio
The ever popular Alan Tomlinson trio – Alan Tomlinson (trombone), Dave Tucker (guitar), Phil Marks (drums) – bring their special blend of ebullient virtuosity and inventiveness in a set to amaze and delight!

The three musicians share an ability to take the music in unexpected directions communicating directly with a sense of warmth and humour. Seriously good music and great fun!

John Russell & Phil Wachsmann
Guitarist John Russell and violinist Phil Wachsmann have worked together in many groups both here and abroad, from large groups like Evan Parker’s Electro Acoustic Ensemble and The European Contemporary Improvisers Orchestra to trios with a.o Marcio Mattos and Teppo Hauta Aho.

Two highly respected improvisers on the international stage this is a rare opportunity to hear them in a duo setting. Unmissable!

Bilbao Syndrome
Bilbao Syndrome is an avant underground supergroup featuring two members of Leeds-based death jazzers Trio-VD (guitarist Chris Sharkey and drummer Chris Bussey), internationally renowned keyboard enfant terrible Matthew Bourne, Zorn-esque noiseniks trio Minghe Morte’s bassist Colin Sutton and frontman vocalist and acidic wordsmith Andrew Plummer of World Sanguine Report.

Bilbao Syndrome circumvent clichés of genre and conjure an austere, contemporary horror show which is guaranteed to be a divisive, unltimately rejuvenative presence in modern metal as well setting the bar higher in the new age of jazz skronk.

This is the release show for their long-awaited debut album, performing the brutal I-VI in its entirety alongside the much loved classic ‘My Sharona’ by The Knack. Not to be missed.

Collider
Collider is a new project from the Leeds Improvised Music Association (LIMA) featuring guitarist Chris Sharkey, Chris Bussey (drums), Andy Champion (bass) and Matthew Bourne (piano).

Collider represents a return to the no-holds barred, total improvisation of LIMA’s early days, in which the emphasis is on the relationships of the players involved and the music that is made.

Hot Head Show
Described by Artrocker as “Art-Pop/Avant-Jazz/Flamenco-Punks”, and by Primus frontman Les Claypool as “Stupid, unclean, helpless geniuses”, Hot Head Show are three young men from Tottenham and California playing guitars and drums whilst also singing.

Somewhere between the sarcastic and the awkwardly earnest, and drawing on years of what the band describe as “totally liberating musical naïvety shackled to a deliciously oppressive mix of jazzophobia and rock-aversion”, this is a sound perhaps best described by the title of their forthcoming album: “London’s Undisputed Champions of Maximalist Avant-Bang.”
