Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir has been honoured with the Nordic Council’s prestigious Music Prize 2012, for her orchestral work Dreaming. The Nordic Council Music Prize is the Nordic equivalent of the US Pulitzer Prize and is awarded on alternate years to a piece of music by a living composer and to a small or large ensemble or individual artist. Previous recipients include Kaija Saariaho, Magnus Lindberg, and Björk.
